  13. Get 7-8 curry leaves
  14. Take 1 pinch asafoetida

Curd rice, also called Thayir Sadam, is a dish from south India. It is considered a comfort food by many. Curd rice is usually served at the end of the meal to combat the spiciness of the dinner. Simple Curd Rice can be prepared with steamed rice and plain curd or with additional tempering of urad dal, mustard seeds, chillies, coriander leaves and steamed rice.

Instructions to make Curd rice:
  1. Wash and soak the rice for 20 minutes.
  2. In pressure cooker put soaked rice and 2 and 1/2 bowl water, close the lid and take 2 whistle.
  3. Let the rice cool completely.
  4. In a big bowl put cooked rice,whisked curd, chopped cucumber, green chilli and salt.Mix it well.
  5. Now heat a tadka pan, add oil,cumin, musterd seeds when they splutter add chana dal, curry leaves, red chilli and asafoetida.
  6. Fry untill golden than pour on curd rice mixture.
  7. Mix well and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Cool the rice then add curds and mix well. Pour the seasoning onto the rice and curd mixture.
