As my this year plan is to start posting reader request this is one of those As most of the recipes even moong dal sprouts are made in few ways but I always follow the below method and satisfied with result. also, replace moong dal with chana dal to prepare chana dal namkeen. instead of deep frying you can also air fry the namkeen till it turns crispy and crunchy. additionally, use net ladle to fry moong dal easily, else it is difficult. Here, normal moong dal is replaced with sprouted moong, and the effect is awesome. Here, we have prepared a traditional snack of Andhra Pradesh, the Pesarattu Dosa, using sprouted moong with a little besan for binding, instead of the usual batter of moong dal and rice. Moong Dal Tadka is a simple Indian dal made with split petite yellow lentils.
Steps to make Sprouted moong n chana dal:
- Soak moong dal and Chana overnight and then get them sprouted for a day.
- Boil them in 1 glass of water with salt and turmeric.
- Dry roast a onion on gas. Prick it with 4or 5 cloves before roasting.Grind it in mixer.
- Heat non stick pan.Add roasted onion paste.Saute it.Add some water then saute it again. Add ginger garlic and green chilli paste.
- Add tomato puree.Saute it well by adding water again and again till flavour comes and rawness goes away.
- Now add sprouted daal and chana.
- Add garam masala,bhuna jeera,red chilli pdr and coconut.Check the seasoning.
- Cook for 7 min.
- Add jaggery,lemon juice,kasuri methi and crushed peanuts.
- Serve hot garnished with coriander.
Tempered with mustard, cumin, garlic & curry leaves this dal is also vegan! However I like moong dal, for me it's as good as any other dal. All you need is a good tadka (tempering) and your delicious dal is ready in no time. Make a dressing by mixing lemon juice, chaat masala and salt. Mix dressing with sprouted moong and vegetables at the time of serving.
